   Functions:
   The Seemanta Mahavidyalaya, Jharpokharia consist of the G.B., Principal, the Teaching and Non-teaching staff. The functions, duties and powers of the college abide by the Orissa Education Act-1969. It is the duty of the Principal to administer the college in a disciplined manner. The measure decision of the college is taken by the Governing Body and the Principal takes the major role to execute them.

2. Key Areas of the Work:
   • To achieve the academic excellence through quality teaching and learning.
   • Creating an environment of intellectual stimulus, scientific inquiry and social responsibility.
   • Provision of computer resource centre to prepare the students for computer literacy to face the global challenges of IT.
   • Providing access to the students for the optimal use of library, office and initiation of connectivity to the department through internet.
   • To prepare the student for placement through students counseling.

   The Principal & employees are appointed by the Governing Body of the college and also by DHE (O) they discharge their duties in accordance with the directions and instructions given by the DHE Odisha from time to time.

3. The Principal, the teaching and the non teaching staff of the college follow the procedure laid down by the governing Body & DHE Odisha.
